So far my career has spanned across education, outreach, social work, marketing, administration, event organisation, design and even for a little while I worked as a clown! But regardless of the job title, my ethos has always been about generating playfulness, communication and creativity in my participants. I approach each job with positivity, care and enthusiasm to ensure that I achieve results.
Community Arts Program Designer
For three years I have been the producer and organiser of The Unfinished Things Festival- this is a community arts event that has taken place in various venues across London.This role required booking staff, hiring equipment, communicating with venues, organising the set up of the event and designing the event schedule.
Previous managerial experience includes Theatre Venue Manager for the Shakespeare in Schools Festival and as a freelance Stage Manager. Duties include creating room and staff schedules, setting up the venue, overviewing backstage running during events, problem solving, financial reviews, feedback reviews.
Outreach, Admin and Marketing
Role requirements: Communicating to potential schools, participants and parts of the community with the aim to include them in upcoming arts and heritage events. Methods of outreach include via phone, videos, social media, taster sessions, leaflets and personalised email content. Skills gained from previous work experience includes: website design, writing tailored content, marketing material design, creative outreach.
Work experience includes Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, Shakespeare in Schools outreach team, Elephant in the room theatre.
I have professional performing experience as an actor, opera singer and comedian, because of this I am a confident public speaker and communicator.
I design community arts workshops for a variety of clients and participants. For this role I that are tailored to suit specific venues and participants. I work with the client to determine workshop objectives for their participants, establish a budget, tailor the workshop to suit their venue, ethos, and participants. Workshops have ranged from baby and parent sessions, to family day events, SEN programs, educational heritage days and community events.
I am a confident and very capable drama facilitator with 10 years of experience. As well as designing workshops, I deliver them in theatres, heritage and community centres, hospitals, schools and colleges. They are tailored to suit any age or ability. Previous clients include: London University College Hospital, Gloucestershire Young Carers, Whizz Kids, West End Theatre Workshops and Shakespeare in Schools Festival.
I am a freelance Drama Teacher with 6 years experience teaching primary, secondary and college level drama. I have good knowledge of school curriculums, safe guarding procedures and experience in lesson planning, writing reports and delivering classes. Previous teaching posts include:
